Mangia Famiglia’s Homemade Marinara is made with San Marzano tomatoes, fresh garlic, onion, basil with perfect seasoning!

Sunday “Gravy”

1 lb Mangia Famiglia Sausage (hot or sweet)
1 pack of Mangia Famiglia meatballs
2 tbsp. Olive Oil
32 oz Mangia Famiglia Marinara

Cut sausage in 2-3 in. pieces. In medium sauce pan, brown sausage on all sides in olive oil on medium heat. Pour marinara in saucepan. Gently stir and simmer for 45 minutes to an hour until sausage is fully cooked. Stir occasionally. Serve over pasta.

Chicken Parmigiana

1 pack of thin chicken breast (or pound thin if needed)
32 oz container Mangia Famiglia Marinara
2 cups of Italian Seasoned Bread crumbs (can use panko or mix with some panko)
2 large eggs beaten with 1 tbsp. of milk
2 tsp of garlic salt
1 tsp fresh ground pepper
1/4 cup of Mangia Famiglia Blended Cheese
16 oz mozzarella cheese (sliced or shredded)
1/2 cup of vegetable oil or pure olive oil (can mix some olive oil with the vegetable oil)

Preheat oven 350 degrees
Prep baking dish – spread about 1/4 of the marinara on bottom of the dish

Mix bread crumbs with garlic salt and pepper. Dip each chicken breast in egg and then press in the bread crumbs to cover on both sides. Place on platter. Heat oil in a large skillet and fry breaded chicken until golden brown (about 2 minutes on each side.) Place each cooked chicken in baking dish. Top with the rest of the marinara. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top and cover with mozzarella. Bake for about 20 – 25 minutes until cheese is bubbling and chicken is fully cooked.

Mussels Marinara

32 oz container Mangia Famiglia Marinara
3 pounds fresh mussels (cleaned and debearded)
Fresh parsley (chopped)
Hot pepper flakes (optional)
Pasta or bread for dipping


Heat marinara in a large stock pot. Turn heat on high , add the mussels and hot pepper to the pot and cover. Stir occasionally and allow to cook for about 10 minutes until all the mussels are open. Transfer mussels to a platter, top with fresh parsley. (Discard any mussels that do not open.)  Serve over pasta or enjoy with bread for dipping!

Mom’s Cheesy Rice

My mom always made this recipe and we loved it…makes a great side dish!

32 oz container Mangia Famiglia Marinara
2 cups cooked rice
Bag of Shredded Mozzarella
1/4 cup Mangia Familgia Special Blend Cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Scoop cooked rice in a deep baking dish. Mix the marinara and parmesan cheese with the rice. Top with parmesan cheese and then mozzarella. Bake in oven for 15 – 20 mins until rice is heated and cheese is melted.


Pork Chop Pizzaiola

32 oz container Mangia Famiglia Marinara
4 – 5 Pork Chops (depending on size)
2 tbsp of olive oil
8 oz package of sliced mushrooms (Optional)
1 cup of shredded mozzarella
1/4 cup Mangia Familgia Special Blend Cheese
Salt and pepper

Season pork chops on each side with salt and pepper. In a large skillet add olive oil and on medium heat brown pork chops on each side, about 2 – 3 minutes on each side. Remove from pan and set aside. Add mushrooms to the pan and cook until soften while stirring occasionally.

Add Mangia Famiglia Marinara to the skillet, mix with the mushrooms. Then add back the pork chops to the pan. Spoon marinara over the pork chops, top with Mangia Famiglia Special Blend Cheese and mozzarella. Cover halfway with lid and simmer until the pork chops are fully cooked about 5 – 10 minutes (depending on the thickness.)

Serve over rice, orzo, polenta, etc…

Chicken Cacciatore

32 oz container Mangia Famiglia Marinara
8 pieces of chicken (thighs, legs or even breast on the bone)
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup of olive oil
4 bell peppers (mix of red and green, seeded and sliced)
1 small onion (sliced)
12 oz of mixed mushrooms (white, cremini, baby portabella, etc.)
1/2 cup white wine
Salt and pepper
Red pepper flakes (optional)
Handful of chopped flat leaf parsley to sprinkle on top
Mangia Familgia Special Blend Cheese to sprinkle on top

Season the chicken on both sides with salt and pepper. Dredge in flour and shake of excess flour. Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Brown chicken on all sides a few pieces at a time and set a side.
Pour out some fat if needed. Add the peppers, onions and mushrooms to the pan and cook for about a minute. Add the wine and cook down for a few minutes. Add Mangia Famiglia Marinara and chicken to the pan. Cover 1/2 way with the lid and simmer for 45 minutes until chicken if fully cooked (165 degrees internal temp.) Serve over pasta or rice.

Tuna Marinara

32 oz container Mangia Famiglia Marinara
2 cans Italian Tuna in olive oil drained (Cento or another Italian brand is fine)
1 Tbs capers
Hot pepper flakes (optional)
Handful of chopped flat leaf parsley

Flake tuna with a fork. Add tuna and all ingredients to sauce pan. Simmer for about 5 minutes to blend flavors. Serve over linguini, fusilli or your favorite pasta.
